About

I’m an IT Director by trade, a musician/historian/archaeologist by training and a wanna be writer.  Want to know more?  E-mail me.

FragFest.net was my idea for a huge gaming convention.  We started in 1997 in Mobile, AL at Springdale Mall.  Net1 Inc (now defunct) supported us and we flopped.  No one in the mall wanted to play.  Then, in 1998, we moved to the Business and Innovation Center in Mobile and we had sponsorship and prizes and 2.5 days of amazing gaming on high speed inet (unheard of in those days).  Then, in 1999, we relocated the event to Brewton, AL, where it was held in the Alabama Technology Network building on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community College.  Little did I know that I would be hired by that same college later that same year.  FF IV-VII were held there, up until 2003 or so.  Then high speed was so prolific that no one showed.

I sold off fragfest.org for a MS opti-mouse, but held onto fragfest.net.  This is ME, as I have used the same email address for over 10 years now and I don’t intend on letting it go.  I changed the site a few times, playing with mysql/php code and doing some minor development.

At the end of 2007, as I approach my 33rd birthday, I decided to revive the site.  I used to be a HUGE gamer . .pre xbox (NOT the 360) then I grew up and found Allegiance.   This space flight game has had me hooked for over two years.  It’s a combination fps in space and . . . well, C&C like strategy, but you have very few AI’s and those RI’s just don’t usually listen.  VERY team based, Alleg has ruled my gaming life and likely will.  Visit the site to read up on it . .I don’t have space here.
