We don’t have kids, but we do have dogs. While my and I aren’t the kind to believe our dogs ARE people, we do like to forge memories for us. We took Jax and Pete to see the Easter bunny and have pictures taken. I also uploaded several other photos to flickr that I like. Some of our Crocuses were blooming a bit early and I got a picture or two that were decent . ..not great (need a book on photography). Anyway, without further delay, here are the pics!
I don’t have much experience with video editing, but it’s likely to be a new hobby for me. Tonight, in preparation for my “gadget class” tomorrow, I decided to convert one of my video clips from my Sony Handycam (30GB HDD version). After installing ffdshow, Windows Movie Maker was able to import the Mpeg2 videos from the camcorder and I was able to edit. Then I got a little carried away, but now it’s late and I’m not going to take the time to make everything perfect, but I think this video is . .. moving.
This video was taken back in Oct or so of 2006, when Petey was still a little puppy and Jax wasn’t so sure who was boss. I wish I could have this much fun!
The dogs:). Petey and Jax. Petey (the smaller one) is a yorkshire terrier. Jax (the larger) is a silky terrier. We started training for agility courses this weekend thanks to my FABULOUS valentines day gift from my wife (my life), Lisa. I’ll take some video this weekend and post.
So this week and last are interview weeks. I have two part time positions and one full time position in my dept that I’m interviewing folks for (bad grammar, sue me). It’s always really interesting to see how people “perform” in an interview. It really should not be called anything else, except a performance; but it’s a performance with heart and truth. Really.
Most people suck at it. They answer the questions, but they don’t make me BELIEVE they already have the job (this is the key). They obviously aren’t thinking like a good employee should (How do I help the organization? What role will I fill, not just with this position, but in five years?); they are thinking that they need a paycheck. While I fully understand this thought, you can’t stop there folks. You HAVE to move further. What are the primary concerns of the organization for the next several years and how can you help address these concerns? Do your homework, it pays.
